Impromptu Night Out With A Twist

One of the things I equally love and hate about universty is the spontinaiety. Last night at 8.30 I was lazing around in my pyjamas watching YouTube videos. At 8.45 I had my heated rollers in and was frantically moisturising (thank god I'd shaved my legs in the shower).

I'm going to be honest, I'm not the best with last minute plans. I like having firm plans and time limits to stick to so I know how to plan my day. But my friends have the 'go with the flow' attitude that they're trying to impart onto me (so far unsuccessfully) and so last night I was rushing around like a headless chicken.

At 9.30 last night, after possibly the quickest I have ever gotten ready, I went downstairs to find my housemates drinking punch from our mixing bowl.

We look a little like a girl band here, but shout out to our man wall!

Come 10.45 we still had no idea where we were going but we rang a taxi and headed into town.

I have a friend who runs one of my favourite clubs (talk about useful friends) and so we headed to his club, naturally he gave us free VIP wristbands and I ended up spending the night sitting in VIP chatting with some of the BBC Radio 1 team. I love my life. The reason for this was Greg James, the radio 1 dj, was djing at the club last night.

Sorry about the poor quality picture, I'd had a few drinks by this point.

I had a very brief chat with Mr James and he is as lovely and funny as he is on the radio. I repeat I love my life.

Needless to say I'm feeling a little worse for wear today so I'm having a day in bed watching transfer deadline day, I love having Fridays off lectures.

In summary, I got to wear a new outfit from Zara and I don't care if it is the middle of winter I will pretend it's summer! I met a radio 1 dj and it was definitely worth getting out of my pyjamas.

Back to FAD

Today saw the return of my university dance society classes. Thank god! The funky arse dancers just make my Wednesdays worth living for after three hours of lectures and seminars first thing on a Wednesday morning I get to shake my funky arse with some of the best friends I have made at university. I suppose the point of this post (besides declaring my undying love for FAD) is that I highly recommend to anyone to just get stuck in and involved in anything that interests you, be that at university or in general life. It could be the best thing you ever did and you could make lifelong friends like I have done. If not it's just another one of life's experiences.

New Year, New Bag

Today was my first day back to lectures since the Christmas holidays and for me the start of the new year and new academic term meant one thing, a new uni bag! I picked up this beauty in the Accessorize sale a couple of weeks ago reduced from £40 to a wonderful £18. It has two small handles to fit it in the crook of your arm as well as a detachable long strap. There is one large zip pocket with two small pockets (perfect for keys and memory sticks) which fits in an A4 notebook or a laptop and folders can fit outside of the zipped area. I was a little weary as to the colour as I wasn't sure it would be bright enough come the spring, but I went for it and I'm very pleased with my purchase, I also received many compliments on it today.

As for being back at university, let's just say I had forgotten how tiring it is to sit in lecture theaters for two hours at a time listening to a lecturer talk about cycle lanes. Though it is nice to be back learning and having a purpose to my day again.

My New Home

I've moved! I used to be based over on Wordpress and as good as that site was to me, it all just a little too complicated for my easily confused technophobe brain. I look forward to the new exciting look of my blog and hope that you'll all join me as I share the events of my life from naughty makeup purchases to applying for jobs. I attempt to post daily about my life as a Cardiff university student and beauty obsessive and hope you all enjoy seeing some of the wonderful things I experience.
